Digital Workflow in Implant Dentistry Series
LIVE WEBINAR
25 Aug-27 Oct 2022 Area of interest: General Dentistry, Implant Dentistry

PART 1/3

DATE: 25 August 2022
TITLE: Imaging for Digital Workflow in Implant Dentistry
SPEAKERS: Dr Krzysztof Chmielewski & Dr Maja Chmielewska, Poland

Abstract
Digital protocols used in implantology are based on the foundations of correctly collected data. We can plan surgical and prosthetic treatment, design templates for guided surgery, and implement the plan safely and predictably if initial data are optimized for this process. We will present the principles that should be followed during our webinar when collecting data using computed tomography and intraoral scanners. We will discuss a broad spectrum of indications, from a single missing tooth to an edentulous situation, with the results achieved.

Learning objectives

  • Recommendation for CBCT Field of View (FOV)
  • CBCT technique for single tooth planning in the esthetic zone
  • Edentulous cases and protocols for dual scan technique with CBCT
  • Intraoral scanning for digital workflow in implantology
  • Common mistakes and ways for its verification

PART 2/3

DATE: 27 September 2022
TITLE: Digital preoperative planning in the CoDiagnostix Era – Maximizing the application of digital tools
SPEAKER: Prof Shakeel Shahdad, UK

Abstract
In this webinar, you will gain an insight into the contemporary tools available for digital workflow in implant dentistry and learn from intraoral scanning to 3D implant planning software in the most technologically advanced, well-planned and therefore safer way possible.

The webinar will present options for digital diagnostic wax-up to allow for digital tooth positioning and how this information is married with the CBCT scan to allow for the most optimal prosthodontic implant position. Different cases will be covered using Straumann implants - from a single unit to multiple unit restorations, giving you the detailed information and confidence to develop a digital approach to dentistry. The webinar will introduce the step-by-step processes for treatment planning using the Codiagnostix implant planning software.

Learning objectives

  • Use of digital tools to perform comprehensive treatment planning and guided surgery
  • Use of digital diagnostic wax-up including tooth movements that may be necessary when planning patients requiring pre-restorative orthodontic treatment
  • Use of digital implant planning software
  • Technique to merge the prosthetic plan and CBCT data in order to define the most ideal 3-dimensional implant position and thereafter design surgical guide
  • Digital workflow in edentulous patients for implant planning including guided surgical planning

PART 3/3

DATE: 27 October 2022
TITLE: Unveiling the power of guided surgery: How to optimize implant therapy surgically and prosthetically with a digital workflow?
SPEAKER: Prof Hani Tohme, Lebanon

Abstract
The digital revolution along with the recent implantology advancements and imaging methods has pooled to introduce computer-guided implantology. This technique is considered a reverse engineering protocol where the practitioner can visualize the final result prior to the surgical procedure. Without interfering with the main rules of implantology, this technique has been confirmed to be predictable at accurately controlling the implant position according to the prosthetic needed outcome using a precise digitally fabricated guide. With the help of literature and clinical cases, this webinar will discuss and describe the benefits of guided surgery, its advantages and limitations, and the step-by-step digital workflow from implant placement to receiving the final prosthesis.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the importance of guided surgery
  • Understand how to apply digital workflow in guided surgery
  • Understand the outcomes of doing guided surgery and talk over the literature in relation to this
  • Understand the digital workflow for obtaining an implant-supported prosthesis
