Skeletal expansion in focus: CAPP hosts hands-On MARPE, MASPE and DOME Workshop in Dubai led by Dr Abdelhakim El Gheriani

CAPP Events & Training held a full-day hands-on workshop on Mini-Screw Assisted Palatal Expansion (MAPE) at the CAPP Training Institute in Dubai on 25 September 2026. Led by Dr. Abdelhakim El Gheriani and supported by PSM Noble Medical Equipment and the Emirates Orthodontic Society (EOS), the well-attended course brought together orthodontists and general dentists.

The programme covered Mini-Screw Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE), Mini-Screw Assisted Slow Palatal Expansion (MASPE) and Distraction Osteogenesis Maxillary Expansion (DOME), from CBCT-led diagnosis and case selection to appliance design, clinical protocols and complication management. Lectures and case discussions were combined with guided practical exercises on appliance components, placement concepts and protocol-based decision-making, preparing participants to integrate skeletal expansion into clinical practice.
