Abstract

Lateral bony window coverage delivers favourable results in sinus floor elevation by increased graft protection. The piezoelectric approach allows repositioning of the sinus bony wall as opposed to rotary window preparation and collagen membrane coverage. Duration of surgery and window preparation, a number of sinus perforations may be reduced following piezoelectric window preparation and bony wall repositioning with less patient morbidity. The webinar presents the clinical, radiographic and histological results of a prospective, randomized, controlled trial on sinus bony wall repositioning compared to rotary window preparation with membrane coverage.
