Abstract

The use of the Resonance frequency analyses (monitoring ISQ) in the daily practice: Implantology with immediate loading protocol has strongly entered our daily practice either for the effectiveness of this protocol and for the pressing demands of our patients. Being able to handle immediate loading means understanding the difference between primary stability and biological stability. Moreover, the only reliable and objective way to monitor the biological phenomenon of osseointegration is by using the Resonance Frequency Analyses which allows us to choose between immediate, early and delayed loading with much more confidence and flexibility.

Learning Objectives

  • Explain how to select the ideal cases for the immediate loading according to the indication of the literature.
  • Discuss when we can use an early loading and when we have to wait more time for osseointegration
  • Understand what is the biological pattern underlying the osseointegration
  • Discuss how to use the resonance frequency analyses and how to interpret them in daily practice
  • Explain what the RFA (monitoring ISQ) means in our daily practice
