Abstract
This webinar aims to provide pharmacists and medical doctors with a comprehensive understanding of the pathophysiology of common cold symptoms, such as sore throat, blocked nose and cough. The session will delve into the role of pharmacists in managing common cold symptoms, highlighting the burden of the disease and outlining key management guidelines. Participants will learn about early intervention strategies and the optimal timing for intervention. The webinar will also explore the efficacy of lozenges in managing sore throat, cough and blocked nose and discuss the established use of ingredients such as menthol, liquorice, Indian gooseberry, and ginger. Additionally, the session will cover inhalation therapy and the benefits of herbal ingredients like camphor, menthol, and eucalyptus in relieving nasal congestion, cough, body aches and headache. By the end of the webinar, attendees will have a deeper understanding of how to effectively manage common cold symptoms using both lozenges and dry/wet inhalation therapy, enhancing their ability to provide better care for their patients.
