Professor Ibrahim A. Alsarra is the Assistant Secretary of Arab Pharmacists Union for Research Affairs and a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the Department of Pharmaceutics in the College of Pharmacy at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.S.) in 1996 from the College of Pharmacy at King Saud University and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Drug Formulation Development from the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the School of Pharmacy, University of Missouri-Kansas City in Missouri, USA.

Since joining King Saud University in 2002, he has held numerous roles, including Deputy Director for Research and Technical Affairs at the Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology Research, the only biotechnology center in Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Alsarra has also served as the President of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society for two terms and was the former Editor-in-Chief of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Journal for six years. The journal is a peer-reviewed and ISI-indexed publication with an impact factor of 3.45.
