Francesco D’Aiuto is Professor of Periodontology, affiliated with Imperial College London, and Distinguished Professor at the University of Eastern Finland. He is an internationally recognised clinician-scientist whose pioneering research explores the connections between oral inflammation, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

His contributions to oral-systemic health research have received international recognition, including prestigious clinical research awards from the American Academy of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology. With over 250 scientific publications and conference contributions, his research spans clinical trials, epidemiology and translational medicine, with a growing focus on life-course prevention, cardiovascular health and healthy ageing.
