Abstract
A beautiful smile impacts your confidence, lifestyle & social life. Harmonizing an esthetic smile requires a perfect integration of facial composition & dental composition. The facial composition includes hard & soft tissues of the face. The dental composition relates more specifically to teeth & their relationship to gingival tissues. The goal of an esthetic make over is to develop a stable masticatory system, where the teeth, muscles, skeletal structures and joints all function in harmony. The smile design is an individualized concept requiring consideration of many soft tissue & hard tissue parameters. Therefore careful diagnosis, analysis of various hard & soft tissue parameters should be a part of smile designing while keeping in mind the esthetics & function. If needed smile designing approach should include different branches of dentistry to achieve best possible results for the patients. The objective of the present poster is to review the various techniques that govern the art of smile designing.
