About the Program
Q What is the core purpose of this program?
To produce clinically confident, independently practising implantologists. By the end of the program, graduates will have completed a minimum of 30 live implant placements across multiple systems, mastered surgical and prosthetic workflows, and received a NIHS-accredited certificate from the University of Sharjah College of Dental Medicine.
Simply put — this program takes dental professionals through every aspect of implant dentistry, from foundations to the most advanced techniques, the right way. Once the program is completed, graduates will feel confident to independently place implants in their own dental practice.

Q Who organises and awards this program?
The program is organised and awarded by the University of Sharjah and its Clinical and Surgical Training Centre (CSTC), in partnership with CAPP Events & Training as the official marketing and co-organising partner.
Q Is this program accredited?
Yes. The program holds NIHS accreditation — Ref. NIHS/122/2026. NIHS (National Institute for Health Specialties) is a leading GCC healthcare accreditation body. This accreditation supports graduates in obtaining implant privileges in the UAE. The program also offers approximately 140 CME hours, with certificates issued per module.
Q Does completing this program help me obtain implant privileges in the UAE?
Yes. The program fulfils the current requirements for obtaining privileges to practice Implant Dentistry in the UAE. The NIHS accreditation (Ref. NIHS/122/2026) directly supports this process.
Q Is this a commercial or sponsored course?
No. This is a non-commercial, non-sponsored educational program. All content is strictly evidence-based and delivered to the highest academic standards. While industry partners participate in hands-on workshops, the academic curriculum is entirely independent.
Schedule & Structure
Q When does the program start and how long does it last?
The program begins with an Orientation Day on 11 September 2026 and runs for 12 months. Training sessions are scheduled around UAE public holidays and academic breaks.
Q How is the program structured?
The program is split into four core teaching sections:
✓Didactic & hands-on modules — 20 face-to-face modules, Fridays only.
✓Case presentations — 6 online sessions where trainees present and discuss their own cases with faculty.
✓Industry-led hands-on workshops — 6 modules with Straumann, BioHorizons, Nobel Biocare, SDS, W&H, and CAPP.
✓Clinical live-patient training
Q Where does the program take place?
All sessions — clinical training, didactic modules, and industry workshops — are conducted face-to-face at the University of Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE.
Q What implant systems will I work with?
Participants will gain hands-on experience with multiple leading implant systems including Straumann, BioHorizons, Nobel Biocare, SDS Swiss Dental Solutions, and W&H, among others. This exposure to different systems and clinical philosophies is a key strength of the program. Systems are subject to change without notice.
Admissions & Eligibility
Q What are the requirements to join the program?
Applicants must meet all of the following:
✓Hold a recognised dental degree (BDS, DDS, or DMD)
✓Minimum 3 years post-internship clinical experience
✓Hold a current, valid dental practitioner licence
✓Provide two professional reference letters dated within the last 12 months
✓Provide a transcript of records and an updated CV
✓Passport copy
Q Can dentists licensed outside the UAE apply?
Yes. Dentists licensed in other countries are eligible to apply and can attend and place implants at the University of Sharjah, subject to Dataflow clearance. However, very frequent travel will be required.
Q What is the deadline for registration?
Places are strictly limited to 24 trainees and allocated on a rolling, interview-based basis — there is no fixed deadline. However, early application is strongly recommended as places are expected to fill quickly. Apply at [email protected].
Q What is the admissions process?
The process has four steps:
1.Application submission — complete and submit your documents to [email protected]
2.Admissions interview — shortlisted candidates are invited for a brief online interview with the program leadership team
3.Offer & acceptance — a conditional offer letter is issued after a successful interview
4.Enrolment & payment — secure your place by paying the first installment
Fees & Payment
Q What is the tuition fee and what does it include?
The all-inclusive fee is 147,500 AED (inclusive of 5% VAT). One fee covers absolutely everything — there are no hidden costs:
✓All implant kits and surgical consumables across multiple implant systems
✓CBCT scans and diagnostic imaging
✓All digital prosthetics and lab fees
✓Module certificates and all industry workshop materials
✓Final certificate
✓Approximately 140 CME credit hours
Q Can I pay in installments?
Yes. Payment can be made in 5 installments via the University of Sharjah payment portal. Bank transfer and credit card are both accepted.
Clinical Training & Patients
Q How many implants will I place during the program?
Each participant is required to complete a minimum of 30 live implant placements under direct faculty supervision throughout the year, across multiple leading implant systems.
Q Are patients provided, or do I need to bring my own?
Patients are provided by the program — participants do not need to source their own. All clinical sessions take place at the University of Sharjah CSTC facility under direct faculty supervision. Participants may bring their own patient; however, certain requirements would need to be followed.

Q Are there networking opportunities?
Yes. With a maximum cohort of only 24 trainees, participants will work closely alongside peers and faculty throughout the year. The 6 case presentation sessions and 6 industry workshops provide regular structured networking with fellow trainees, University of Sharjah faculty, and representatives from leading implant companies.
Assessment & Certificate
Q Is there an exam or assessment?
Rather than a single exam, progress is evaluated through a variety of continuous formative assessments throughout the program — including clinical assessments, case presentations, and literature reviews.
Q What certificate will I receive?
Upon successful completion of all program requirements, graduates receive a Clinical Certificate in Dental Implantology awarded by the University of Sharjah. The certificate is NIHS-accredited (Ref. NIHS/122/2026). CME certificates are also issued per module throughout the program.
