Introduction
One of the most common problems that a dentist faces is managing patients with impacted wisdom teeth. Management of the patients requires an appropriate risk assessment that leads to a decision of either to extract it or not. Moreover, management might require a referral of the patient to a specialist when the case is outside the scope of practice of a general dentist.
Aim
To enable dentists to manage patients with problems related to impacted wisdom teeth.
Competencies
By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
- Diagnose patients with problems related to impacted wisdom teeth
- Formulate a treatment plan for patients with impacted wisdom teeth
- Assess the risk associated with surgical removal of impacted wisdom teeth
- Perform surgical extraction of soft tissue impacted wisdom teeth

Overall Schedule
The programme consists of 10 days – 4 theoretical days and 6 live patient clinical sessions performed by the participants. Each participant will manage a minimum of 6 patients with impacted teeth under the supervision of the faculty members.

Live Patient Surgical Consists of:
- Patient examination
- Request and interpretation of CBCT
- Surgical removal of the impacted tooth
