ROUND TABLE TRAININGS
On 15-16 November, DOS will offer Round Table training to the participants, taking place at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena & Conference Centre, Dubai, UAE. The sessions will be hosted by numerous international speakers covering various topics. Each session will be repeated four times per day, and you can select and attend training sessions at your preferred time slots. You can attend a maximum of four sessions per day.
16 NOVEMBER 2024
Abstract
This round table training provides a comprehensive overview of skeletal anchorage, from introductory concepts to advanced techniques, with a focus on practical application. Attendees will gain in-depth knowledge about temporary anchorage devices (TADs), particularly palatal appliances using mini-implants, and understand their benefits in orthodontic treatment. Current techniques and workflows will be demonstrated through clinical examples. In a practical exercise, participants will experience the digital workflow. Performing a mini-implant insertion in the anterior palate using an insertion guide and installing a metal-printed Beneslider will solidify the theoretical knowledge and improve the participants' confidence and skills in applying these techniques in their everyday practice.
Abstract
The use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) has proven to be a valuable adjunct to the management of patients who present with complex orthodontic malocclusions. Three-dimensional imaging allows the spatial relationship of the dentition, the surrounding anatomy, and any possible associated pathology to be accurately assessed and appreciated. The pre-treatment clinical records of different complex orthodontic cases, requiring combinations of orthodontic, restorative, and surgical intervention will be shared, assessed, and discussed. The range of possible treatment approaches for each case will be explored, and the added value of reviewing the relevant CBCT scans will also be highlighted and considered. The aim is for this session to be practical and clinically focused. The session will be interactive, engaging and stimulating. Active participation from attendees and the sharing of ideas and experiences regarding the management of complex orthodontic cases will be encouraged.
Learning Objectives:
● Understand the benefits of CBCT in the management of complex orthodontic cases.
● Evaluate pre-treatment clinical records and CBCT scans in complex malocclusion cases.
● Explore various treatment options, including orthodontic, restorative, and surgical approaches.
● Analyze the added value of CBCT in treatment planning and decision-making.
● Encourage interactive participation and sharing of experiences in managing complex orthodontic cases.
Abstract
Accelerated orthodontics has evolved over the last decade from a theoretical to a standard practice adopted by many clinicians. Lessons learned during these years on integrating accelerated orthodontics will be reviewed and allow those who want to use accelerated orthodontics to benefit and skip the learning curve based on the experiences garnered by their predecessors.
Learning Objectives:
● Basic understanding of the History and Mechanism of accelerated orthodontic treatment.
● Review clinical cases illustrating accelerated orthodontic treatment.
● Important lessons for practical adoption of accelerated orthodontic treatment.
Abstract
This presentation will show attendees how PBM can accelerate tooth movement during orthodontic treatment and the scientific bases of its clinical use in orthodontic tooth movement using clear aligners and braces.
Learning Objectives:
● Designing digital treatment planning for clear aligners orthodontic treatment when PBM is planned to be used.
● Applications of PBM to accelerate orthodontic treatment.
● Clinical efficiency of orthodontic treatment with clear aligners and PBM.
Abstract
This round table provides scientific evidence of the PBM in preventing orthodontically induced tooth root resorption during orthodontic treatment. This round table also will provide the science and limitations of current literature on preventing tooth root resorption.
Learning Objectives:
● Attendees will be able to recognize the efficacy of PBM in minimizing orthodontically induced tooth root resorption.
● Attendees will learn the current facts and limitations in the literature about the efficacy of PBM in minimization of orthodontically induced tooth root resorption.
Abstract
Accelerated orthodontics will reduce treatment time in some cases by 60% and more importantly decrease pain in patients. The financial benefits to the practice, dentist and patient will be reviewed in a practical numbers-based approach so that each attendee can determine what the benefits to their practice will be. The net result for those who adopt accelerated orthodontics can be millions of extra dollars in net income throughout their career.
Learning Objectives:
● Insight into how accelerated orthodontics can positively impact practice and the lifetime value of the practice.
● Practical tips on how to effectively present accelerated cases for successful adoption.
● Provide tools for the analysis of a dentist’s practice to determine the impact on their office.
Abstract
Incorporating digital tools into routine orthodontic practice significantly enhances diagnostic accuracy and improves patient communication and education. Orthodontic software technology optimizes temporary anchorage device (TAD) placement, leading to higher success rates. Additionally, complex appliance fabrication becomes more efficient and precise with digital advancements. The integration of face scanning and digital software also allows virtual treatment outcomes to closely match real results, providing a more accurate and predictable treatment plan. These innovations streamline workflows, improving overall patient care and treatment success.
Learning Objectives
● Improve Diagnostic Accuracy by implementing the use of digital tools in routine orthodontic practice.
● Enhance patient communication and education.
● The use of orthodontic software technology for better TAD's placement and increased success rate.
● Complex appliance fabrication will be easier with the use of digital tools.
● The virtual treatment outcome is now closer to the real outcome with the face scan and digital software.
Abstract
