Abstract
The management of periodontal disease has always been a challenge for the dentist. It is well known that prevention is better than cure. This prevention has to be taken into serious consideration also when it comes to using implants to rehabilitate patients with gum disease. A close collaboration between the dentist and technician is one of the main factors in optimising the final biological and prosthetic outcomes.
