Immediate zirconia implants: Excellence for high aesthetic demands - Afternoon session
Hands-on Courses
10 Apr 2026, 14:00 – 18:30 CAPP Training Institute | Dubai | UAE Area of interest: Implant Dentistry , Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Abstract

Titanium implants have long been regarded as the gold standard in implant dentistry. However, increasing aesthetic expectations, a rising demand for metal-free treatment concepts, and expanding knowledge of peri-implant biology have driven the development of modern ceramic implant systems. Zirconia implants have emerged as a scientifically validated and clinically reliable alternative, particularly in biologically oriented and highly aesthetic treatment concepts.

This intensive 4.5-hour course combines structured theoretical instruction with practical hands-on training to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary ceramic implantology, with special emphasis on immediate zirconia implant placement.

The didactic component will cover the biological principles of ceramic implants, including soft-tissue integration and osseointegration dynamics. A critical comparison between zirconia and titanium implants will highlight differences in material properties, clinical indications, and long-term outcomes. The concept of immediate implantation within a biologically driven protocol will be presented in detail, including case selection & planning, risk assessment, healing management and multiple case presentations.

During the hands-on session, participants will perform the surgical steps of immediate zirconia implant placement using a structured clinical workflow. Special focus will be placed on implant handling, drilling protocols, hard- and soft-tissue management, and key prosthetic considerations to ensure predictable outcomes.

The goal of this course is to equip clinicians with practical skills to confidently integrate ceramic implant systems into their daily practice and elevate the quality of implant treatment.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the key surgical and biological differences between ceramic and titanium implant systems.
  • Explain and apply the biologically driven protocol required for predictable ceramic implant healing and osseointegration.
  • Planning of cases for immediate zirconia implant placement, particularly in the aesthetic zone.
  • Perform the surgical steps of immediate ceramic implant placement following a structured clinical workflow.
  • Manage hard- and soft-tissue conditions to optimize esthetic and biological outcomes.
  • Demonstrate correct handling of ceramic implants and instrumentation during hands-on exercises.
  • Integrate a prosthetic strategy for immediate and delayed restoration concepts within a ceramic implant workflow.
