Longevity and success with ceramic veneers


Abstract

During this presentation, Professor Tipton will discuss the reasons for failures in Aesthetic Dentistry especially with Ceramic Veneers and how to achieve longevity in the restorations. 

He will discuss over 30 years of experience in placing Ceramic Veneers including tooth preparation, bonding adhesion and occlusion. He will show cases where correct treatment has resulted in 25-year success rates. 

Tooth preparation techniques such as conventional, slice, and quarter will be shown as well as differing techniques for preparation of the incisal edges. 

Cross-over position and the concept of progressive guidance will be discussed and the use of various types of occlusal splints including Tanner Appliances Michigan Splints and Dual Arch B splints.
