Course Structure
This course on the inter-relationship of periodontics and restorative dentistry is a step-by-step programme in the form of lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions.
Aesthetics has become a fundamental part of dental practice over the past 20 years and patients’ expectations of a good aesthetic outcome are at an all-time high.
Beginning with how the inter-relationship of periodontics and restorative dentistry help from the ideal oral aesthetic, we then explore how we can modify a patient’s periodontal structures to assist in producing a good aesthetic result.
We will explore both inadequate crown high and recession and how these impact aesthetic outcomes. We will then delve into the planning and treatment options available.

The two days will cover:
- What is meant by the term “periodontal aesthetics”
- Explore how to do an aesthetic periodontal assessment
- Discuss soft and hard tissue aesthetic integration
- Review the options for periodontal aesthetic surgical treatment
- Practical experience with surgical techniques to achieve optimum periodontal aesthetics
