Dr. Hugo is a registered specialist in periodontics with the General Dental Council. He focuses his clinical practice on the diagnosis and treatment of gum disease, aesthetic periodontal surgery, and implant dentistry.

Dr. Hugo graduated as a dentist from the University of Lisbon and practiced general dentistry for a couple of years before exclusively working in private practice specializing in periodontology and implant dentistry since 2006.

He completed a three-year full-time Specialist Training Program in Periodontology and Implant Dentistry in Lisbon. Dr. Hugo holds a Diploma in Clinical Periodontology from Gothenburg University and completed a Post-Graduation in Implant Dentistry at the Oral Rehabilitation Institute in Lisbon.

Currently, Dr. Hugo serves as a senior teaching fellow in the postgraduate program in periodontics at the University of Manchester. Additionally, he is a lecturer in the Periodontology Department at the University of Lisbon. Dr. Hugo also delivers lectures on periodontics and implant dentistry at national and international events.

He actively participates as a member of the British Society of Periodontology and the Portuguese Association of Periodontology and Implants.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Hugo enjoys spending quality time with his wife and children, playing tennis, and exploring different parts of the world through travel.
