Dr Anna-Maria Yiannikos-Loucaidou is an internationally recognised clinician, educator and researcher whose work over the past three decades has focused on advancing laser dentistry through evidence-based clinical practice, education and research.

She is the Director and Chief Dentist of the Yiannikos Centre for Biological Dentistry in Cyprus and serves as the Official Representative of Cyprus to the International Society for Laser Dentistry (ISLD). She is also a faculty member on the MSc programme in Laser Dentistry at Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, and a long-standing academic collaborator of the Aachen Dental Laser Centre (AALZ/RWTH Aachen).

A graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (DDS), she completed her MSc in Lasers in Dentistry at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and subsequently earned an MSc in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Her clinical research on Nd:YAG laser therapy in periodontal treatment received the Best Clinical Research Award at the ISLD World Congress in Berlin in 2006. She also led her practice to become the first dental clinic in Cyprus to achieve ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certification.

Her current clinical and research interests centre on laser-assisted therapy, the oral-systemic interface and the integration of biological science into precision laser dentistry.
