Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Sassari, Italy, teaching Fixed and Removable Prostheses on natural teeth and implants, and Gnathology. He graduated with honours from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2000, obtained the II Level Master in Oral Surgery in 2003, and completed the Master of Science in Oral Surgery in 2005 at the same University. He attended advanced courses in Periodontology and Implantology at the University of Florence in 2006 and 2007.

In 2013 he obtained the certification of the European Association of Osseointegration in Implant-Based Therapy, as the first Italian clinician to do so, together with Prof. Silvio Mario Meloni. In 2014 he was the winner, for the second time, of the Prosthesis Poster Session at the Nobel Biocare Symposium in Riccione, and in 2019 he received the Aesculapius Research Prize awarded by the University of Florence.

He is a past lecturer at the Oral Rehabilitation Department of the II University of Rome "Tor Vergata", directed by Prof. Alberto Barlattani, and at the Oral Surgery Department of the Marche Polytechnic, directed by Prof. Fabrizio Bambini. From 2019 to 2022 he was Adjunct Professor of Prostheses, and in February 2022 he won the competition named "RTDB or lecture B" as University Researcher at the University of Sassari. He is also a former Adjunct Professor at Aldent University, Tirana, Albania, covering Implantology and Prosthetic Aspects within the Master of Science in Dentistry Programme.

He serves as President of Osstem-AIC (Advanced Dental Implant Research & Education Center), Italy, and is an Active Member of the IAO (Italian Academy of Osseointegration), the Digital Dental Society (DDS), the EAO (European Association for Osseointegration) and the AIOM (Italian Academy of Microscopic Dentistry). A past president of Osstem OIC Italy, he is currently Director of OIC Europe and Co-Director of OIC Middle East, and in 2024/2025 he was nominated as chairman of the global consensus meeting by Osstem.

An international speaker on topics related to implant surgery, he is the author of 134 national and international publications with high impact factor, and in 2024 he was listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide. He has participated both as principal investigator and coordinator in several research and R&D projects in Implantology. He also works as a freelance clinician in Rome, limited to implant surgery and prosthesis.
