Dr. Stephan Lampl holds a PhD, BChD, MClin in Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry, MDT, and BBA. He is a distinguished member of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD), the American Society for Dental Aesthetics (ASDA), and the Indian Dental Association (IDA). As the founder of Smile & Education Centers in Switzerland, Belgium, South Africa, and India, as well as EDGE Excellence in Dental Global Education, Dr. Lampl is dedicated to advancing the field of aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Lampl’s expertise encompasses advanced aesthetic treatments, including esthetic diagnostics, bio-esthetics, and bio-function for direct, semi-direct, and indirect digital workflows. His proficiency includes treatment planning based on bio-mechanical principles, direct techniques for anterior and posterior restorations in adults and children, and digital workflows utilizing state-of-the-art bioceramic CAD/CAM materials.

He is highly skilled in various direct and indirect adhesive procedures, emphasizing conservative techniques and strict ethical behavior. Dr. Lampl successfully treats patients with Temporomandibular Pain Dysfunction Syndrome (CMD), oro-facial pain, and severe worn dentition through non-invasive bio-mimetic restorations and splint therapy to establish relaxed muscle functions and new vertical dimensions.

Dr. Lampl is engaged in sustained research on bio-materials and dental materials, collaborating with universities worldwide and publishing numerous research papers. He holds degrees in Dental Technology from Austria and Switzerland, a Dental degree from South Africa, a Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry from the Geneva Smile Center, and a Master Clinician degree in Aesthetic Dentistry from UCLA.

From 2013 to 2019, Dr. Lampl was a Visiting Lecturer at the University of the Western Cape for the Post Graduate Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry. Since 2017, he has been a Visiting Professor at the K.L.E. Society’s Institute of Dental Sciences. In 2021, he became an Adjunct Professor at Yenepoya University in Mangalore, JSS Dental College and Hospital in Mysuru, and Saveetha University in Chennai, India, where he also completed his PhD and conducted most of his research.
