Dr Krešimir Simunović, MSc, DMD, is a Swiss-trained dentist and internationally recognised expert in laser dentistry and photobiomodulation (PBM). He graduated from the University of Zurich Dental School in 1987 and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1991, conducting pioneering research on the effects of the CO₂ laser on dental tissues and restorative materials. Throughout his career, he has combined clinical practice, scientific research, and education, with a particular focus on laser-assisted dentistry, pain management, wound healing, oral surgery, and integrative medicine.

In 1997, Dr Simunović founded the first Laser Dental Clinic in Zurich and later became an official Swiss Training Centre for the Laser and Health Academy (LA&HA). He completed a Master's in Laser Dentistry at the Medical University of Vienna in 2010 and has served as a lecturer and Master Instructor at leading European universities. From 2015 to 2018, he directed the Dentistry Department at Dr Taher Medical Clinic & Life Care H.C. in the UAE. In 2023, he co-founded TicinoLaser SA in Locarno, Switzerland, a centre dedicated to laser medicine, dentistry, photobiomodulation, pain therapy, and holistic healthcare. A former President of SGOLA and member of several international professional organisations, Dr Simunović is a respected speaker, educator, and author in the field of laser dentistry worldwide.
