Gavin qualified as a dentist from Newcastle University in 1998 and then spent 2 years working in Maxillofacial Departments in the North East of England and London. Gavin then lived in Australia for a year and worked in the Paediatric Department of the United Dental Hospital, Sydney, before starting his Specialty Orthodontic training at The Royal London Hospital.
Gavin has worked as a Consultant Orthodontist at King’s College Hospital in London for over 15 years. He has a special interest in looking after patients who present with combined orthodontic and restorative problems and treating patients who present with severe underlying skeletal discrepancies.
At King’s College Hospital Gavin is actively involved in training postgraduate dentists in Orthodontics and the related specialties. King’s College Hospital contributes to training approximately 20% of the dental work force of the United Kingdom and continually hosts a large number of international postgraduate dentists who significantly contribute to the department in many different and valuable ways.
In addition to his role in the Hospital, Gavin also works in two private practices in London, he was a formerly a Trustee of the British Orthodontic Society and a Clinical Editor for the Journal of Orthodontics. He is currently an examiner for the Membership in Orthodontics for The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Throughout his career Gavin has enjoyed presenting research and delivering educational courses at various national and international conferences and meetings.
