Andre Priede is a General Dentist and a qualified Diabetes Educator, with a Masters in Primary Health Care. He is currently a lecturer in General Dentistry at the University of Melbourne Dental School. He has had a personal and professional interest in diabetes for over 30 years, and his research interests include the association between diabetes and oral health, chronic disease management, and the communication and collaboration between healthcare professionals managing people with diabetes. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate exploring two behaviours that impact the efficacy of diabetes screening in the dental setting: oral health care professionals following screening guidelines, and referral compliance amongst screened individuals.
