Modern implantology is mainly influenced by digital components and technologies we are able to use today like CBCT scans, guided implantology and CAD/CAM based prosthetic reconstructions. Despite these technological improvements the biology of soft and hard tissue didn´t change and still has to be respected also by modern workflows and implant systems.
This lecture aims to explain the biological principles of implant placement generally applicable to modern implant systems and their integration in the digital world.
Digital planning of the implant position, emergence profile and CAD/CAM workflows including implant prosthetics may play a major role in this discussion. Also, ideas like the "one abutment at a time" concept or the digital guided immediate implant placement as modern digital components are depending on a modern implant system as well as digital techniques in respect of basic principles of biology.
This lecture will discuss the influence of modern implant systems and digital technologies on biological and healing success.
