Occlusion is the foundation to eﬀective diagnosis and comprehensive treatment planning, especially for every clinician who is involved in dental cosmetics, prosthetics, TMD and orthodontic dentistry. The speaker simpliﬁes the most complex topic of Dentistry which is occlusion. The management of Temporomandibular Disorders and orofacial pain is a complex problem in dentistry. This complexity arises from the many problems that can be associated with masticatory function. In order to eﬀectively manage TMD, the clinical must be able to recognize these disorders from other disorders so that correct treatment can be provided. This lecture will focus brieﬂy on the multiple factors that relate to TMD, occlusal disturbances and how to manage them in a minimally invasive way. Treatments based on sound scientiﬁc principles will be presented.
