Abstract
Respiratory infections remain a major cause of patient consultations during the winter season, presenting significant challenges for healthcare professionals in diagnosis, symptom management, and appropriate treatment decisions. With evolving viral patterns and increasing concerns around antimicrobial stewardship, clinicians must be able to distinguish self-limiting respiratory illnesses from conditions requiring further investigation or urgent intervention.
This webinar will provide an evidence-based overview of common winter respiratory conditions, including acute cough, upper respiratory tract infections, and community-acquired pneumonia. Participants will gain practical insights into the assessment of persistent cough, recognition of clinical red flags, timely referral pathways, and optimal symptomatic management strategies.
The session will also explore the appropriate role of antibiotics in respiratory infections and discuss current best practices for improving patient outcomes while minimizing unnecessary antibiotic use. Through real-world clinical perspectives, attendees will enhance their confidence in managing respiratory presentations and navigating the complexities of respiratory care in an ever-changing healthcare landscape.
