Temporary anchorage devices: From principles to practice
Hands-on Courses
28 May 2027, 09:00 – 18:00
CAPP Training Institute | Dubai | UAE
Area of interest:
General Dentistry, Orthodontics
Abstract
This workshop provides delegates with the fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge required to plan and undertake treatment using temporary anchorage devices safely and effectively. Combining lectures with practical exercises, it covers the clinical applications of TADs, the selection of appropriate insertion sites, the planning of suitable biomechanics, and safe insertion technique, so that delegates leave able to apply each of these in their own practice.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, delegates should be able to:
- Discuss the clinical applications of temporary anchorage devices.
- Explain the factors influencing TAD site selection.
- Explain the treatment-planning and biomechanical principles underlying TAD-supported orthodontics.
- Demonstrate the step-by-step process for safe TAD insertion.
- Discuss methods of maximising TAD stability and clinical success.
- Explain how TADs can facilitate anteroposterior, vertical and transverse correction.
- Demonstrate the clinical setup of TAD-supported space closure.
