Abstract

Dr Baumgaertel is known worldwide as one of the most experienced practitioners of skeletal anchorage. Using a clinical case study, he outlines the entire treatment process – from diagnosis and planning through to implementation using temporary anchorage devices (TADs). 

The focus is on clinical decision-making processes, the various applications of TADs and their use in different treatment scenarios – including aligner and multi-bracket therapies, as well as in conjunction with MARPE. Dr Baumgaertel shares insights from his many years of practical experience and explains which aspects are crucial for successful treatment. The anchorage systems used are presented within the context of the clinical procedure.
