Abstract

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of endodontic retreatment, covering the essential steps and techniques required for successful management of previously treated teeth. Participants will learn effective diagnostic strategies to assess the need for retreatment, including the use of advanced imaging tools and clinical evaluation methods. The course will then focus on post-removal procedures, including the careful extraction of both metal and fiber posts, with emphasis on minimizing damage to the surrounding tooth structure. Special attention will be given to techniques for gutta-percha removal, ensuring thorough cleaning of the root canal system, and strategies for bypassing ledges. Participants will also gain experience in the retrieval of broken instruments, using safe and effective techniques. Additionally, the repair of perforations, a critical aspect of endodontic therapy, will be discussed.Through detailed lectures and practical demonstrations, this course aims to enhance participants’ability to manage complex retreatment cases, ultimately improving the long-term success of endodontic therapy and patient outcomes.
