Abstract

Scanning completely edentulous cases is often challenging, as conventional scanners typically fail to produce the precise scans needed for constructing restorations with acceptable passivity. Various techniques using structured light scanners have been proposed to address these issues. However, photogrammetry (PG) remains the gold standard for full-arch cases, despite its high cost and the need for separate scanners. Integrating PG into intraoral scanners presents an innovative approach to achieve precise scans for such cases. This webinar aims to highlight the theory and workflow of intraoral photogrammetry and its potential in dental implant practice.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the basic concepts behind intraoral photogrammetry and how it differs from structured light scanning.
  • Identify the necessary equipment and software used in intraoral photogrammetry.
  • Describe the step-by-step process of conducting an intraoral photogrammetry scan.
  • Discuss the advantages and challenges associated with implementing intraoral photogrammetry in clinical practice.
  • Review case studies showcasing the successful use of intraoral photogrammetry in dental implantology.
  • Discuss the potential of intraoral photogrammetry to transform current practices in dental implantology.
