Abstract
Successful endodontic care requires sound clinical decision-making and treatment strategies adapted to pulpal status and root canal anatomy. This course explores vital pulp therapy, primary root canal treatment, and nonsurgical retreatment through clinical lectures and practical workshops. Emphasis will be placed on case selection for pulp preservation, access preparation, and the management of curved and calcified canals. Canal negotiation, instrumentation, and disinfection will be discussed alongside strategies for removing existing root filling materials during retreatment. Contemporary obturation techniques and material selection will also be addressed. Practical demonstrations and exercises will translate these concepts into clinical application, helping participants refine their techniques, preserve tooth structure, and manage endodontic challenges with greater confidence.
Learning Objectives
- Select appropriate cases for vital pulp therapy based on pulpal diagnosis and clinical findings.
- Prepare access cavities that facilitate canal identification while preserving tooth structure.
- Adapt canal negotiation, shaping, and disinfection to curved and calcified canal anatomy.
- Apply techniques for removing root filling materials and managing challenges during nonsurgical retreatment.
- Select obturation materials and techniques suited to the anatomy and clinical requirements of each case.
