Learning Outcomes
By the end of this 2 days course, participants will be competent:
- Gain basic Knowledge about biology of tooth movement
- Acquire the basic knowledge about orthodontic force system
- Understand the basic knowledge about different orthodontic tooth movements
- Assess tooth structure and pertinent diagnostic features from PA x-ray
- Identify and select cases for treatment with clear aligners
- Diagnosing and Treatment planning candidate cases
- Analyze and manage the space needed for the alignment
- Fill and submit the lab case prescription form for fabrication of aligners
- Trouble shoot techniques for clear aligners
Course Description
This 2-day course will introduce orthodontic residents, dental general practitioners, and interested pediatric dentists to the principles of clear aligners. During this course participants will gain the basic knowledge of the principles and biology of tooth movement, optimal orthodontic forces, dental malalignment and normal occlusion, tissue changes associated with tooth movement in addition to the biomechanics of tooth movement and importance of maintaining anchorage. This course is tailored to allow practitioners improve their knowledge and clinical skills as well as gaining confidence.

Description Day 2
Day 2 of this course will be at the phantom Lab. These hands on course will allow the participants to optimize their didactic knowledge through intensive clinical simulation exposure using phantom heads to allow them gain confidence and improve their clinical skills.
Morning Session
This interactive morning session (hands-on),
Participants will be introduced to clear aligners Clin-Check review and clear scientific communication to ensure success of treatment.
Participant will do a complete workout of a clinical case: selection, diagnosis, treatment planning, fills clin-check form with the proper instruction/ communication of force system for lab fabrication of the aligners.
Participant will show competency and efficiency in trouble shooting common clinical situations using proper armamentarium
Afternoon Session
This interactive afternoon session (Hands on), will introduce participants to the philosophies in retention of treatment outcomes and maintenance.
Participants will bend, fit and bond lingual retainer to the phantom jaws. Also, Participants will show the ability to fit and adjust the removable Hawley retainers
Participant will show competency in carrying the staged IPR and staged bonding Engagers
