Abstract
The widespread adoption of bioceramic materials has significantly advanced contemporary endodontic practice by enhancing the quality of root canal obturation and expanding treatment options for complex endodontic conditions. Owing to their superior biocompatibility, bioactivity, dimensional stability, and sealing ability, bioceramic sealers and repair materials have become integral components of minimally invasive and biologically driven endodontic therapy.
This workshop provides an evidence-based overview of the clinical applications of bioceramic sealers and putty materials, with emphasis on their role in three-dimensional hydraulic obturation and root repair procedures. Participants will review the biological rationale, material properties, clinical indications, and current protocols for predictable use of bioceramic materials in routine and challenging endodontic cases. Special focus will be placed on the management of complex root canal anatomy, apical splits, root perforations, open apices, and internal resorption defects, together with techniques for the combined use of bioceramic sealers and putty to optimise treatment outcomes.
The workshop incorporates extensive hands-on training, enabling participants to perform three-dimensional hydraulic obturation, bioceramic obturation of apical splits, perforation repair, apical barrier formation in immature teeth, management of internal resorption, and clinical manipulation of bioceramic sealer and putty. Upon completion, participants will have acquired the scientific knowledge and practical skills necessary to integrate contemporary bioceramic protocols into daily endodontic practice, thereby improving the predictability of root canal obturation and biologically based root repair procedures.
