The talk will overview the causes of tooth wear, particularly erosion. Then it will look at the evidence to establish if aging is related to erosive tooth wear. The epidemiology suggests that populations experience more wear with increasing age. But the evidence for individuals is less certain. Finally, the talk will review how dentists and DCPs can reduce the risk for erosive tooth wear for your patients and delay or avoid restorations. The talk will not explore restorations for tooth wear but will use examples to illustrate how challenging they can be.
