Root to crown: Digital strategies for restorative success
Abstract
The restoration of the endodontically treated tooth requires a careful balance between preserving remaining tooth structure and achieving long-term function and predictability. This lecture will explore contemporary approaches to restoring structurally compromised teeth, ranging from direct adhesive restorations to indirect solutions, with emphasis on clinical decision-making, indications, and limitations. Digitally guided workflows will also be explored, highlighting their potential to support more conservative, efficient, and predictable restorative treatment.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the key factors influencing the restoration of the endodontically treated tooth.
- Select the most appropriate restorative strategy for each clinical situation.
- Recognize the role of remaining tooth structure, ferrule, cuspal coverage and adhesive strategies in achieving predictable outcomes.
- Explore how digitally guided workflows can enhance the planning, execution and predictability of restorative procedures.
