MORNING PRESENTATION: Smile in an Hour
This exciting technique will show you how to use composite to improve your patients smile. Close collaboration between dentist & technician will be necessary to plan and deliver 6 composite veneers in an hour
- Digital smile design: Design that smile- The rules, tools and strategies to improve the smile.
- Cosmetic imaging: using the up state of the art software to communicate with patients
- Unique silicone index design
- Transfer the DSG to the patient’s mouth- diagnostic approval, let’s go.
- Use of heated composite and injection moulding with composite to deliver 6 direct composite veneers.
- Marketing: Ethically and efficiently selling your skills to patients.
HANDS-ON: How we do it?
AFTERNOON PRESENTATION: Anterior Layering Techniques
This hands-on session will allow the clinician to understand how to use the correct amounts of enamel and dentine composite shades, with careful use of tints, to provide a life-like composite restoration.
The session will build on the BARD finishing and polishing protocol which is essential for success with composite restorations.
DAY 2
Title: Composite Veneers | Faculty: Dr. Matthew Holyoak | Time: 09:00 - 18:00
MORNING PRESENTATION: Anatomy of Posterior Teeth
- Pits
- Grooves
- Cusps
- Ridges
- Fossae
- Occlusal perimeter
If you do not understand posterior tooth anatomy you will not be able to accurately recreate posterior teeth! Posterior composite restorations present a major challenge! This course will improve your knowledge of posterior tooth anatomy, and subsequently allow you to deliver high quality natural-looking composite restorations.

We will provide a detailed step by step finishing and polishing protocol that will allow the clinician to provide a beautiful life-like restoration that will change and improve your day to day dentistry.
DAY 4
Title: Tooth Wear: Diagnosis & Management of Tooth Surface Loss Faculty: Dr. Matthew Holyoak | Time: 09:00 - 18:00
OVERVIEW
Tooth wear is a very common and challenging problem in modern dentistry. This one day course will look at the diagnosis, aetiology and management of localised and generalised tooth wear. It will focus on minimally invasive techniques using adhesive dentistry, and composite to build up the worn dentition. The aim is to give dentists confidence when treating complex wear cases, so they can achieve a predictable aesthetic and functional result.
The day will be “doing” work with a very hands-on approach which will allow each delegate to take away practical tips that will give confidence and ensure each delegate is able to treat tooth surface loss from DAY ONE.
Dentistry is a hands-on job; this day will reflect my beliefs- practical, enjoyable & educational.
- Identify and control the aetiological factors
- Functional occlusal analysis
- Predictable restorative solutions to provide maximal longevity, maximal appearance with minimal intervention
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Definitions of tooth wear
- Aetiology of tooth wear
- Occlusal principles & functional analysis
- Localised Vs Generalised tooth wear
- Dahl Principle – Localised anterior tooth wear
- Increasing vertical dimension: when and by how much?
- Additive wax ups, use of silicone indices
- Minimally invasive techniques using composite resin to restore the worn dentition
- Simplified anterior layering, finishing & polishing protocol
HANDS-ON
Detailed step by step protocol that we will follow and the clinician can take away from the course that will give confidence when treating your patients!
Simulated wear case lower 3-3: Involving build-up using silicone indices with direct composite
Additional hands-on technique: Use of translucent silicone indices to restore canine guidance.
