- To provide education on smile analysis and trial techniques
- To teach dentists how to manage tooth aesthetics using contemporary materials to restore aesthetics and function.
- To discuss techniques to obtain optimised tooth preparations to balance MI with best outcomes
- To be able to make and use provisional restorations

Course description
An all-day programme which includes techniques of assessing a smile and carrying out trials and mock-ups before committing your patient or yourself to treatment. Techniques for single and multiple tooth restorations cover the choice of materials and procedures to offer options to your patients to manage predictable changes the colour and shape of teeth. Includes non-invasive adhesive techniques as well as veneers. Focus is on the Destination Dentistry approach: design first the build to that, minimising tooth reduction and maximising outcomes. Part seminar with a lot of hands-on.

Lecture: Smile Design Delegates will be provided with an easy formula and technique for assessing smiles and deciding on what changes could be made. Tips on sharing this information with dental laboratories so that the correct analogue or digital “wax up/mock up” can be produced. A number of case studies will be considered and delegates will have the chance to design a smile for these cases. There will be many tips shared that are immediately usable for clinical practice. |

Hands-On: Direct composite techniques Delegates will carry out hands-on techniques to place highly esthetic veneers quickly and successfully, learning when to use monochromatic or layered techniques, how to make teeth appear bigger, smaller and younger. Finishing techniques are covered in detail with many tips for success. Apply the A-B-C concept to align, bleach then correct with composite, monitor, maintain and convert to ceramic if necessary at a later stage using the Destination Driven approach for a predictable satisfying outcome. |

Hands-On: Indices, provisionalistaion and tooth preparation Delegates will be shown how to make accurate indices. They will also produce them and use them on a case study to understand how to carry out minimal and only necessary tooth reduction as part of using the Destination Driven approach. Delegates will fabricate aesthetic and accurate provisional restorations and learn how to use these to evaluate the smile design to achieve optimal esthetics, phonetics and function. |
