Dr. Lucero is a board-certified pediatric dentist with a passion for clinical excellence and education. He began his career in general dentistry after completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at the San Antonio (TX) Veterans Affairs Hospital. He practiced for several years in Austin, Texas, including at a Federally Qualified Health Center, where he discovered his calling in pediatric dentistry while serving underserved children.

He completed his pediatric dentistry residency at Oregon Health & Science University and has since built a dynamic career blending private practice and teaching. Dr. Lucero has made use of his experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry, treating a wide range of patients—from infants to special needs adults in their 60s. His clinical practice continues to focus on caring for underserved children in his community and he regularly provides free volunteer care at a non-profit clinic.

An international speaker and key opinion leader with NuSmile, Dr. Lucero leads NuSmile Restore workshops across the U.S. and Canada, training dentists and residents in evidence-based pediatric restorative techniques. His clinical interests include operating room dentistry, MTA pulp therapy, and esthetic restorative options for children.

Now based in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Lucero remains dedicated to advancing pediatric dental care through hands-on training, mentorship, and global collaboration. He is especially passionate about supporting new dentists as they navigate the challenges of modern practice.
