DAY 1 | 16 December 2020

Title: Composite Veneers, Smile Design, Anterior Tooth Anatomy & Lab Communications Part 1 | Faculty: Prof. Paul Tipton, Dan Stenkilsson, Dr. Ashish Rayarel & Thomas Claesen | Time: 09:00 – 18:00

Course Outline

The morning session will consist of a smile design lecture which will include:

• How to choose between creating a natural smile or media smile for your patient.
• Cosmetic Imaging techniques for sales and treatment planning
• Assessing Occlusal vertical dimension
• Creating the correct Occlusal planes for the full mouth recon.
• Choosing the ideal centre line for your patient.
• Communication with the technician the correct smile line and anterior Occlusal plane.
• Creating ideal aesthetics by incorporating golden proportion into your restorations.
• Understanding Anterior tooth shapes and anatomy to create beautiful Anterior composite and porcelain restorations 

The afternoon session will show practically how the dentist can develop all the principles of smile design discussed in the morning session into their anterior direct and indirect restorations. Working on models all delegates will create the ideal shapes for the upper anterior teeth in wax using the ‘Wax Addative’ technique.

DAY 2 | 17 December 2020

Course Outline

The morning session will now continue with Smile Design for your patients and will cover:

• Using phonetics to ensure correct tooth profiles
• Lip lines and central incisor dominance
• 50:40:30 rule for contact areas
• Importance of the Dennis Tarnow rule for eliminating black triangle disease.
• Creating the ideal buccal corridor and changing emergence profile v banana teeth
• Soft tissue aesthetics
• Restorative solutions to uneven gingival margins
• Use of pink composite and porcelain to mimic gingival tissue.
• Using Anterior restorative Ortho GDP techniques to create ideal aesthetics prior to restoring

The afternoon practical session will now show the dentists how to transfer the shapes they have created in wax via clear silicone indices into beautiful composite veneers using the brand new ‘Injection Moulding’ technique for 60 minute smile makeovers.

• Learn how to make your Anterior Direct restorations look beautiful and natural by learning essential tooth anatomy

DAY 3 | 18 December 2020

Title: TMD, It's Diagnosis and Treatment | Faculty: Prof. Paul Tipton, Dr. Adam Toft & Dr. Ashish Rayarel | Time: 09:00 – 18:00

This course is ideal for dental practitioners who want to expand their clinical skills and gain experience to improve their knowledge-base and techniques.

Course Outline
The morning session will consist of a TMD seminar and the afternoon session will cover an occlusal splints hands-on practical.

DAY 4 | 19 December 2020

Title: Adhesive Bridge Preparation Techniques | Faculty: Prof. Paul Tipton, Dr. Adam Toft & Dr. Ashish Rayarel | Time: 09:00 – 18:00

Course Objectives
By the time the delegates have completed this course will:

• Critique failures in Maryland bridge design
• Evaluate the criteria determining the type of Maryland bridge prescribed
• Describe the applications for: single cantilever, fixed-moveable, and fixed-fixed designs
• Incorporate design features to resist  forces: lingually, occlusally and coronally
• Produce preparations showing gingival finish lines of the correct depth and position
• Demonstrate guide planes to increase the wing height and give retention/resistance  form
• Present proximal grooves parallel to the tooth long axis and having mesial and distal walls
• Confine the  lingual groove within  the gingival and occlusal finish lines 
• Respect the preservation of the grooves‘ lingual walls when placing rest seats
• Confirm fixed-fixed bridge design features show a common line of a draw on all abutments

• Recognise the causes of Maryland bridge failure
• Determine the features which are ideal in Maryland bridge design
• Understand the forces which can displace the bridge
• Describe how the design features resist the displacing forces
