Dr Omar Ikram graduated from Otago University, New Zealand in 1997 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He worked in general dental private practice in New Zealand and NHS/private practice in the UK from 1998 to 2009. In 2005, he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and in 2009, he gained Membership of Restorative Dentistry (MRD) from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, Scotland. In the same year, he published his Masters thesis in the International Endodontic Journal.
Dr Ikram completed his Masters of Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in Endodontology, which is a specialist training for Endodontics in the University of London, UK in 2009. From 2010 to 2020, he worked at the Sydney Dental Hospital, Australia, and since 2010, he has been working at the Private Specialist Endodontic practice, Specialist Endo Crows Nest in Sydney, Australia.
Dr Ikram is the administrator for the Specialist Endo Crows Nest -clinical hacks Facebook page, which currently has 25,000 members. In 2016, he became the Director of Dental Specialists of Sydney, Australia. He is also the administrator for the @SpecialistEndo Instagram page, which currently has 13,300 members.
Dr Ikram became a Fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2019, and in 2021, he co-created the EndoPrep smart/tablet phone app and became a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
