Dr Miguel Rodrigues Martins (DDS, MSc, PhD) is an internationally recognised expert in laser dentistry and endodontics, known for his advanced clinical expertise, academic contributions, and leadership within global laser dentistry organisations. He completed his Doctorate (PhD) in Lasers in Endodontics at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Porto (FMDUP), Portugal, where he also earned his Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS).

Dr Martins holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Lasers in Dentistry from the internationally acclaimed RWTH Aachen University in Germany, and completed a University Specialisation in Oral Implantology at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. He is also a certified Laser Safety Officer (LSO) through AALZ–Aachen University.

A respected educator and researcher, Dr Martins serves as an Academic Co-Worker at AALZ Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, contributing to postgraduate laser dentistry training. He plays an influential role in the global professional community as a Board Member and Keynote Lecturer for the International Society for Laser Dentistry (ISLD) and as Vice-President of the Portuguese Society for Medical Lasers (SPILM).

He is actively involved in scientific publishing as an Editorial Consultant and Reviewer for leading journals, including Lasers in Dental Science and Photomedicine and Laser Surgery. With his strong academic background, international teaching experience, and commitment to advancing laser-assisted clinical practice, Dr Miguel Rodrigues Martins continues to be a leading voice in modern laser dentistry.
