The power of adhesive dentistry: make it simple and predictable
Abstract
Dental esthetics and minimally invasive dentistry have become increasingly important during the last decade when considering diagnosis and treatment planning. Practicing additive dentistry rather than subtractive dentistry, in conjunction with applying the concept of adhesive partial restorations, allows for greater preservation of healthy tissue than a full ceramic restoration. This approach also allows for proper restoration of both anatomical and functional relations of the offending tooth while maintaining its integrity. The aim of this session is to present the entire clinical workflow starting from case assessment and ending with the selection of the appropriate cementation technique.
Learning objectives
- Highlight the importance of proper case assessment for more predictable outcomes
- Explore current concepts of minimal invasive dentistry... the additive approach
- Elaborate on the current digital workflow for indirect restoration fabrication
- Discuss how to select from different CAD/CAM materials used for indirect esthetic restorations
- Understand different cementation protocols and when to use them
