Abstract

Since the introduction of photo biomodulation (PBM) in orthodontics in 2012, there have been huge impact of its influence on orthodontic treatment predictability especially when used with clear aligners. This presentation will highlight the new development of Photo biomodulation to enhance tooth movement, minimize pain during initial orthodontic treatment with clear aligners, help whiting after orthodontic treatment and ensure long term stability after treatment with clear aligners. Also, this presentation will highlight the use of Photo biomodulation to mitigate TMD associated pain with or without orthodontic treatment using clear aligners.

• Discuss the basics of Photo biomodulation science and how it can be used clinically in clear aligners orthodontics 
• Describe how to design clear aligners treatment plan ensuring it’s predictable results using PBM 
• Evaluate the treatment plan for orthodontic cases using Invisalign clear aligners and Photo biomodulation 
• Identify the applications of Photo biomodulation in TMD cases
