Digital innovations in contemporary orthodontics: applications in everyday clinical practice

Abstract

Intraoral scanners and specialized software have created a novel environment for the contemporary orthodontic office. The incorporation of new technology and Artificial Intelligence features in the orthodontic workflow patient experience, doctor satisfaction, and practice differentiation.  CAD/CAM appliances and digitally assisted diagnosis and treatment planning tend to be the standard of care. The design and production of in-office aligners offer the clinician absolute control of the process while increasing the speed and efficiency of the treatment.   This presentation will outline the advantages of digitization and automation in orthodontics, the seamless transition from an analogue to a state-of-the-art digital office, and the impact on everyday clinical practice.
