Digitalisation played a very important role in the event industry around the world last year. During the 2020 pandemic situation, CAPP (Centre for Advanced Professional Practices) made a major step to move its all face-to-face continuing education events and training to a new level.
15th CAD/CAM & Digital Dentistry Conference, an annual event has been affected as well due to the outbreak and the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic. For the last 14 years, the event proved a significant involvement in the development of dental education in the Middle-East, Far-East, and internationally.
The 15th edition of the CAD/CAM & Digital Dentistry Conference, which took place on 12-15 November 2020, was executed as a virtual event. The event was a part of the umbrella of events, called "CAPP November Dental Livestream 2020". The event provided all participants with a great experience to listen to the renewed speakers in dentistry from around the world. Around 11,875 attendees actively participated in the conference sessions from different parts of the world. A user-friendly web-based platform facilitated all international speakers to present their scientific lectures during conference sessions on various topics such as digital dental impressions, digital oral scanners, digital dental prosthodontics, digital imaging systems, digital smile designs, digital orthodontics, digital treatment planning, materials for CAD/CAM systems and many more throughout four days. Additionally, there were also opportunities for the sales representatives from the sponsors of the event to disseminate white papers, case studies, PPTs, product videos, and other informative material that is normally shared during the face-to-face event.
Participants
The event welcomed 11,875 attendees with various specialisations such as GP Dentists, Prosthodontists, Periodontists, Paediatricians, Implantologists, Orthodontists, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons and many more actively participated in the conference sessions representing a total of 122 countries.
Opening Speech
The event started with an opening speech of Dr Dobrina Mollova, CEO & Founder of CAPP, and Dr Aisha Sultan Alsuwaidi, President of Emirates Dental Society to the 15th CAD/CAM & Digital Dentistry Conference.

Poster Presentation Awards
Parallel to the event, a poster presentation competition was held. This event was open to all Dental Students, Interns, Graduate Students, General dentists, or Dental Specialists who have submitted their entries to be presented during the event and was accepted by the Scientific Committee as entries for the Poster Presentation. Posters were judged by Dr Nadim Aboujaoude from Lebanon and Assoc Prof Dr Cagdas Kislaoglu from Turkey who evaluated 23 posters.

Closing Speech
Dr Dobrina closed the conference with a speech on the fourth day of the event, inviting all attendees to the next event taking place from 19 to 22 November 2020 - 12th Dental Facial Cosmetic Conference. Dr Mollova expressed her sincere gratitude to the panellists and speakers for sharing their expertise with all attendees.
