Learn the latest techniques to treat bruxism and TMJ problems during this interactive practical day on TMD and occlusal splints.
More and more patients are suffering from a variety of symptoms of bruxism including TMD, Tooth surface loss, headaches , clicking etc. It’s estimated that over 70% of the population are suffering from some of these symptoms. This seminar and practical day will show you how to diagnose the problem and how to use the variety of available treatments to help your patient including the use of various forms of splint.
Whist its almost impossible to stop bruxing what we can do as clinicians is to stop the effects of bruxism by reducing muscle stress and joint pain by understanding how the occlusion and psychological aspects of the patient contribute to the problem. You will be shown how to fit and adjust a splint and then proceed with the fitting and adjustment yourself during the practical. Understanding TMD and how to treat it is essential to all dentists involved in quality patient care.
The morning session will consist of a TMD seminar and the afternoon session will cover an occlusal splints hands-on practical.
