Abstract

Digital appliance design and 3D metal printing have expanded the scope of orthodontic appliances. Complicated appliances can be fabricated precisely without the human errors inherent in traditional manual wire bending. Furthermore, skeletal anchorage is considered a game-changer for maxillary growth modification in both transverse and anteroposterior dimensions, even in older patients. This webinar will explore the e????icient combination of skeletal anchorage and metal printed appliances in the management of patients with maxillary deficiency. It will also discuss the potential for maxillary expansion in more mature patients.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand palatal TADs from A to Z (anatomical considerations, biomechanical concepts, choosing the right TAD, insertion, and coupling with devices, bone 1st, and appliance 1st, di????erent workflows).
  • Evaluate how 3D printing can expand the design possibilities and enable multitasking with the same appliance to achieve several treatment objectives.
  • Understand the role of Hybrid Hyrax in maxillary growth modification in children with CIII maxillary deficiency.
  • Evaluate rationale and di????erent protocols for maxillary expansion.
