This lecture will describe and discuss the basic principles and newest technologies in Esthetic and Adhesive Dentistry, with direct clinical applications. A non-complicated approach will be emphasized based on sound scientific and clinical data. A multidisciplinary treatment protocol will be presented and discussed. Both conventional and conservative tooth preparation techniques will be presented along with adhesive protocols for achieving long-lasting and sensitivity-free restorations.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this lecture, participants will be able to:
- List and discuss basic concepts that enhance smile esthetics.
- Explain how the multidisciplinary approach can be used for planning and treating esthetically demanding cases.
- List the different dental materials available for indirect and direct restorations for both anterior and posterior teeth, and select the appropriate material for a given clinical case based on the material's advantages and disadvantages.
- List and describe bonding protocols that provide long-lasting and sensitivity-free restorations.
