Abstract

Orthodontic treatment is more than straight teeth and a nice smile. This presentation will look at the orthodontist’s role in optimizing patient health.  A deep look at how to perform routine exams to identify risk factors that could significantly affect patient health and wellbeing. Following a comprehensive review of the orthodontic evaluation, the common iatrogenic effects of orthodontic treatment will be discussed with prevention and management strategies.
