The course will start with a lecture that will cover the facial analysis of the patients, which allows starting the treatments with an anesthetic driven approach. Tooth anatomy, proportions, and relations within them will be discussed in detail, in order to give the participants the maximum information possible for a complete diagnosis and treatment plan. Digital and traditional mock-up tools will be presented. In addition, all modern treatment options will be discussed (bleaching, polishing, direct and indirect veneers, non-prep veneers, thin veneers, edge-ups, etc)
In the afternoon session, practical exercises for understanding tooth anatomy will be done. Afterward, a clinical case will be design digitally with a digital mock-up. Afterward, a model will be analyzed based on the smile design concepts discussed during the morning session. Based on that, the participants will make a direct mock-up and will create provisional and temporary guides. Minimal preparations will be done and the case will be temporized.
To learn how to diagnose different esthetic clinical challenges
To learn how to digitally design a smile
To learn how to make a traditional mock-up and a digital mock-up
To learn about preparation rules
To learn about tooth proportions and anatomy
All materials necessary for the hands-on course will be provided. Nevertheless, it is highly advisable that participants bring their own kit of burs, periodontal probe, ruler, a scalpel with blade 11 or 15 if they can. This will help them to work in the same conditions there are used to work in their clinics.
If any participant has a micromotor in their clinic and can bring it, it will be highly appreciated.
Participants should also bring their own notebook with the software powerpoint for PC or Keynote for Mac. If they do not have one, they can work in pair with their partner, since the exercise will be in pairs.
