Abstract
Systemic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and autoimmune disorders have well-documented links to oral health, particularly periodontal disease. This session explores these bidirectional relationships and provides pharmacists with clinical insight on how oral signs may indicate broader health concerns. Dr. Salam will discuss pathophysiological mechanisms, high-risk patient groups, and the role of pharmacists in identifying, educating, and optimizing care for medically compromised individuals.
